Intuitive Travel on the Cabot Trail – Pendulum Style

Does all the decision-making take the fun out of travel for you? Intuitive travel can help.

With the use of a pendulum, it’s even easier. Plus, it’s a lot of fun as you embrace the mystery and follow guidance.

Intuition is playful. It invites you to be curious, wonder-ful, and yes, stretch your comfort zones by exercising trust. Once you start to play with your Team of Divine Helpers in this way, it’s amazing!

Clarity, ease of decision making, playfulness, and experiencing what’s in your Highest Good …. these are all benefits of using your intuition.

Here’s my story and a coaching video on how to use a pendulum for decision-making.

Intuitive Travel on the Cabot Trail

Although most of my trip to New Brunswick to be the godmother of the Atlantic Visual Arts Festival (FAVA) was straightforward and planned, my return trip through Cape Breton island was not.

I’ll start by saying that although I’ve lived intuitively for years and have learned to completely trust my guidance, it doesn’t mean that some of what happened on this trip wasn’t a stretch of my comfort zones.

I’m not a natural risk-taker… yup, a bit of a chicken, actually.  But I trust my guidance.

Booking a Place to Stay

When I Googled places to stay in Cape Breton, here’s the map I got. Yikes! When you blow it up, a lot more places show up.

When I planned my trip, I didn’t even know if I should stay on Cape Breton Island or on mainland Nova Scotia. All I knew is that it was 7 hours away from Caraquet. But I wasn’t sure if I’d be packing up my exhibition that morning or the night before.

So instead of humming and hawing or worrying about it, I simply took out my pendulum to ask a few quick questions.

The trick is that once you get an answer, stick to it, trust it, and stand behind it. If you start to doubt and ask the same question over and over, it won’t work anymore. Your Team of Divine Helpers will stop playing with you.

So I asked:

“Is it in my Highest Good to say on Cape Breton the night of June 18th?”

Yes.

“Is it in my Highest Interest to stay on the right side of the island on this map?”

No.

“On the left side?”

No.

“Is it in my Highest Interest to stay in the centre?”

Yes.

And then I simply put my finger on each accommodation and watched as the pendulum gave me a no, no, no, no, and finally a yes!

When I checked out the listing online to make my reservation, it was perfect for me – on the outskirts of town with a view of the water!

The historic Broadwater Inn near Baddeck was the home of Alexander Graham Bell’s right hand man.

I delighted in the view and comfort after a long drive and very busy week at FAVA. My Team of Divine Helpers were right (of course). It’s just what I needed!

Over breakfast the next morning, its current owner shared entertaining stories and very useful travel tips with his houseful of guests.

How to Use a Pendulum

Intuitive Navigation

For my first day on the famous Cabot Trail, I simply followed my intuition using my clairsentience (clear feeling).

This is a simple intuitive exercise of tuning into your body to sense its yes/no through feelings of expansion or contraction. I teach you how to do it in a previous blog post.

You likely do it all the time unconsciously.

I like walking through a city or driving around in this way. At every intersection, you ask which way is in your Highest Interest and feel your way to a yes, whether it’s go straight, turn left or turn right.

Then you embrace the mystery, trust, and stay hyper attentive with a sense of curiosity and play to find out why you were directed that way.

The Cabot Trail is a 297 km (185-mile) scenic loop that tourism guides recommend driving in 3-5 days. I only had 2.

Intuitive Navigation was a great way to see and do what I knew was in my Highest Interest and let go of all the wonderful things I knew existed but I didn’t have time to do.

I’d check in to spontaneously decide whether to stop at various vistas, artist studios, restaurants, hiking trails, etc.

It was great! And it was fun!

Many have asked if I mind traveling alone. Trust me. I’m never alone. None of us are! My Team of Divine Helpers are great travel companions.  They always have my Highest Interest at heart and  never complain about my hundreds of photo stops and illogical decisions – in fact, they applaud and reward them.

Where Will I Sleep Tonight?

The skies were threatening rain and it was getting later than I was comfortable with. I didn’t know where I’d be sleeping.

I knew there’d be vacancies as we weren’t in the height of tourist season yet. But not knowing where I’m sleeping is a stretch of my comfort zone for sure!

I’m not the easy going nomadic spirit many people think I am when they look at my resume. I feel the fear, but know to follow my guidance.

In my mind, it was logical to drive to Pleasant Bay to stop for the night and maybe take a whale watching tour in the morning.

But when I got there through the heavy rain and fog, I was intuitively instructed to keep driving.

Really?! It’s moose-hour and that fog and heavy rain are scary to drive through, especially through this section of roller-coaster hills”.

To keep going meant getting back into the nearly deserted National Park, not knowing how long it would take to reach the next patch of civilization.

But I know better than to say no to my guidance. It only leads to regret.

So, I kept going and all I could think about was “I’m glad my Dad doesn’t know I’m doing this right now“. Through the filter of my fear, it just wasn’t a smart thing to do.

But the moose were kept away and without any other cars on the road, I could drive as slowly as I wanted through the sheets of rain and blankets of fog.

At one point, I passed a hostel with cheap rooms – sounded good. But I got a strong “no” when I spotted the long lines of construction crew vehicles pulled up for the night. So I kept going.

Finally, I got to Chéticamp, an Acadian town I thought for sure would be my final destination. It was nearly 8pm and I’d been driving for more than 10 hours.

But as I stopped in the parking of all the B & Bs, hotels, and roadside cabins to use my pendulum (because I was unable to tune in to my body’s senses as well through the mild panic mixed with trust and tiredness), I kept getting a “no”.

Once I got to the other end of town, I was concerned yet still willing to play. “OK”, I said, “Now where?”.

And soon after that, I got the message to turn right. I was now driving on Chéticamp Island and spotted a bright yellow sign  “Camping & Chalet”” ahead.

My whole being vibrated when I saw that sign. It was a clear “Yes” and the joy welled up inside.

My first relief was that the Plage St. Pierre Campground office hadn’t yet closed for the night. My biggest relief, however, is that they had 1 cottage. And it was available!

Better than that, it was the only beach-front lot in the place. Everything else was behind the sand dunes in the trees.

Wow! What a view! It felt like wilderness luxury – with 2 bedrooms, living room, modern bathroom, full kitchen, and outdoor deck for the same price as my first night’s B & B ($120 Cdn).

I couldn’t believe my luck! But I should have. There’s a reason I trust my intuition. Look where it brought me.

I was woken up the next morning at 4:44am (one of my 2 angel numbers) just in time for the sunrise. Then, after a very welcomed hot shower, I walked the deserted beach for 3 hours in the company of my new iPhone X camera and was in total bliss.

There’s no way I would have enjoyed a hotel or in-town stay as much as I did this time to be in Nature stretching my legs with water all around.

More Fun Ahead

After taking my time to leave the campground and then exploring the bumpy road to the lighthouse on the other end of the island, I headed out of Acadian Country.

When I stopped at the Dancing Goat Café & Bakery (recommended by my Broadwater Inn host), I got a definite sign that there was more fun ahead.

First, I was given the order number 44 for my table. Then my bill came out to $11.44 (11 is my other angel number).  I was being congratulated and reminded that the game was still on.

So after a healthy lunch, I took the road with a sense of curiosity and wonder. It didn’t take long to figure out what was in store for me.

I was only about 1.5 hours from North Sydney, where I needed to be at 9:30 pm that night to line up for the overnight ferry back to Newfoundland. That gave me all afternoon to explore in the warm sunshine.

So I asked myself, “What would you most like to do?” and kayaking came to heart. I love being on the water and it had been more than a year since I’d been in a kayak. It was still way too cold in Newfoundland, so now was my chance.

I knew my loop would take me back to Baddeck, where I slept on my first night. I’d seen a marina and thought perhaps they’d have kayaks there. It was only half an hour away.

But not 2 minutes after having had that inner planning conversation, I see a sign for The Lakes Campground with go-karts and kayak rentals. For $13, I could take a plastic kayak out onto the pristine lake for an hour.

I had it all to myself, but once again, I was far from being alone.

Within the first 5 minutes I spotted an eagle at the top of a tree and crossed the lake to sing to it. Then I simply relished being on the water (definitely my element), embraced by the forest, and taking in the saturation of colours & abundance of life-giving fresh air.

A red-tailed hawk flew right above me, chased by some angry little bird. The sun through its tail feathers filled me with gratitude as I reconnected to one of my first totem animals from childhood.

While looking up, I also spotted a rainbow-coloured halo around the sun that took my breath away. The contrails added to what felt like a sacred geometry show in the heavens above.

I felt so very blessed and grateful ! I couldn’t ask for a better leisurely kayaking space. I was in bliss!!!

Then, just as my hour was up, the eagle left its perch across the lake, swooped half way down the expanse of water and pulled up a big fish with its powerful talons. Then it let it go and flew away over the distant mountains. It was as if it was simply giving me a show as I’d asked it to do an hour before. Sorry little fish…

I ended my Cabot Trail tour walking through Baddeck. I’m not a shopper by nature, but something compelled me to enter a clothing store. There, I found the perfect necklace to add to my small collection – a very long string of spirals in a hypoallergenic zinc alloy from Turkey – it felt like I’d been looking for it for years.

So I said “Yes!” and “Thank You!” embracing the circulation of abundance on this day.

I then felt completely satiated, so headed to North Sydney early to eat, line-up for my overnight ferry, and start editing the thousands of photographs from my trip.

Intuitive travel is fun. Enjoy trying it out – whether it’s for a couple of hours downtown or weeks on the road.

Need answers? Try an intuitive walkabout

Vibration from the Treedom Collection

“Vibration” From the Treedom Collection

There are so many ways to get Guidance. The intuitive walkabout is one of my favourites and anyone can do it.

It’s quick and easy.

I taught this at last weekend’s Intuition Into Action Intensive and the participants were blown away with the results.

You can do it anywhere – your house, your office building, a downtown street, etc.

My favourite place for an intuitive walkabout is in nature. You get the added bonus of fresh air. Breath is your Life Force, which is your connection to Spirit. Use it well.

By breathing deeply as you walk on Mother Earth, you open your communication channels.

So try your own intuitive walkabout using my 5 Steps to Activate Your Intuition.

Step 1. Ask

Because of free will, we need to ask our angels and guides for help. Invite them to play with you.

Do one question at a time.  Make it simple, specific, and open (5Ws).

Examples:
“How can I best resolve my conflict with my teenage son in the next 2 weeks?”
“What can I do this Fall to meet the right man for me?”
“What’s my next best move to increase the number of customers I serve this month?”

Then state that you need the answer before you get to some landmark or curve in the path (about 5-10 minutes).

Step 2. Access

Now it’s time to collect data. Access your intuition.

Pay attention. Whatever catches your attention has meaning. Trust that.

Don’t try to figure out the meaning at this point. Just write down or record everything you notice.

Remember that intuition speaks through your senses and symbolism, so pay attention to

  • how you feel
  • what you smell or taste
  • what you hear
  • what you see
  • thoughts or memories
  • everything
"Compassion" from the Treedom Collection

“Compassion” from the Treedom Collection

This might look like

  • tangled roots with moss – beautiful
  • trunk stump looks like owl
  • snail slow and graceful through grass
  • ambulance siren fading in the distance
  • juvenile eagle flies over river downstream
  • 2 squirrels chasing each other up trees
  • memory of childhood picnic & playing frisbee
  • sudden chill when I turned left so went right instead
  • butterfly lands in front of me
  • young man bends down to pick up after his dog and gives a treat

Step 3. Analyze

It’s easier to keep Steps 2 and 3 separate at first.

This is where the left analytical brain joins your right intuitive brain (and heart) for teamwork.

Interpret the data by matching your clues to your question.

You’re the best person to play detective with the symbolism you receive.

The more you practice, the better you’ll get.

So, if your question was: “How can I best resolve my conflict with my teenage son in the next 2 weeks?”, you might interpret the clues like this.

  • tangled roots with moss – beautiful
    – We’re family. It gets messy, but it’s nourishing and beautiful anyway. This is an opportunity to grow. Relax with it.
  • trunk stump looks like owl
    – I need to change my perception of his being cut off to recognizing his wisdom. He’ll make mistakes, but he’ll learn from them.
  • snail slow and graceful through grass
    – There’s no fast & easy fix. Be OK with it taking time. Don’t rush it. This is about moving “home” forward. It doesn’t have to feel like a burden.
  • ambulance siren fading in the distance
    – You’re alarmed by the situation, but there’s no reason. The danger is behind you.
  • juvenile eagle flies over river downstream
    – My son is growing and needs to spread his wings on his own. It’s up to him to choose his direction.
  • 2 squirrels chasing each other up trees
    – If I keep harping on what he did, he has no choice but to run. I’m pushing him away.
  • memory of childhood picnic & playing frisbee
    – We used to play and have fun a lot more together. Now we mostly argue. I’ll organize a family picnic to bring the family together. We haven’t done that in so long. We need time to just play and bond again. Maybe I’ll ask if there’s something else like that he’d rather do instead.
  • sudden chill when I turned left so went right instead
    – I need to pay attention to when my mood or interactions with him are going the wrong way and bring more warmth and love into them
  • butterfly lands in front of me
This isn’t about him. This is an opportunity for me to transform the way I’m being in this situation. This can be beautiful!
  • young man bends down to pick up after his dog and gives a treat
    – I have to let him clean up this mess and take responsibility for what he did. But I also need to encourage him for the small steps he’s taking to improve his situation.

You get the picture. Here, it was about relaxing, backing off, allowing, changing perceptions, adding fun, and supporting growth.

You may have gotten different meanings from the same clues. That’s the beauty of the process.

Your angels, guides, the Universe, Source – whatever you call Guidance – speaks to you in a language that relates to you. Sure, you need to decode it, but that’s part of the fun.

Step 4. Act

Now take inspired action.

Guidance is useless if you don’t act on it.

Organize that family picnic. Get off your son’s back and let him figure things out. Recognize his wisdom and trust in the process. If you get angry, stop and ask how you can bring more warmth/love to the situation.  Find ways to encourage and reward his efforts to clean things up. Be there for him – don’t make it about you.

Step 5. Allow

As Above So Below photo on canvas

“As Above So Below” from the Treedom Photography Collection

Then let things evolve. Trust in Divine Timing.

If you were guided to do something, know that it somehow fits in the big picture.

And whenever you have more questions, go through the steps again and enjoy another walkabout.

Last weekend at my workshop, participants had a list of 10 questions they wanted clarity on during their walkabout. They did one at a time as we walked through the building and the grounds.  They collected data for Question 1, stopped, analyzed their results, then went on to Question 2, and so on.

They were amazed by the results and now have a list of inspired actions to take to move their lives in their right direction. You can too.

Intuition Into Action Treasure Map

These 5 Steps are the same whether you seek your answers on your own during an intuitive walkabout or use intuitive hearing aids, like my Divine Storytelling Time PackagesIn this case, I do “Step 2 – Access” for you.

However you choose to get your answers, know that Guidance is available. If you’re feeling lost or depleted, ask and you shall receive.

Your Turn

So go ahead, give the intuitive walkabout a try.

Then feel free to share your results in the comments below.

I’d love to know your original question and 2 inspired actions you’ll take based on your findings.

You’re Not Alone – Letting Go of Loneliness This Holiday Season

It’s sad but true. Lots of folks are lonely during the holiday season, even when they’re surrounded by people.

Have you ever felt alone at a Christmas party? You may even be married or have a large extended family, yet feel invisible. The good news is that you can let go of loneliness this holiday season.

All you need to do is be seen – truly seen – first by yourself and then by others. To do that, connect to Source and your team of Divine Helpers and look at yourself through their eyes. Then be real! You’re a divine being on this earth for a human experience. What’s not to love?

It may be hard to come out of hiding after years of being an Academy Award winning actor in your own life. If you’re like most, you learned at a young age to be what others wanted you to be to fit in. Or, like me, you chose to spend most of your time on your own because those around you weren’t equipped to accept the real you. But if you don’t risk being yourself, the cost of disconnection is high: loneliness and depression.

It’s worth looking at the protective mechanisms we adopted at a young age to see if they still serve us.

Last week, I went to a Christmas party for local business women. I left feeling energized and happy. Trust me, that’s amazing! I used to feel drained and lonely at such events.

Why the difference? I brought my Self to the party and we had a good time connecting to those who chose to do the same.

A year ago, I wouldn’t have even considered going.  When I first joined the Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneur in early 2015, I cringed when my advisor mentioned their several networking events.  I visualized a room of energy vampires trying to “get” from each other.

But this year, I’ve learned I can be authentic in business situations. I wasn’t laughed at or rejected for my gifts. So now I don’t only take my True Self out to play when I’m with close friends or on my own. I had no problem talking about the mini-movies in my head when answering questions about my intuitive readings. Not everyone is open. I can see that right away and redirect the conversation towards them.

But to my surprise, many light up and start talking about things they too wouldn’t have felt comfortable talking about. Forget the chit chat about the weather! Let’s get real. Then we all leave feeling truly seen and accepted.

I confess. It took courage. I’m accepting and loving myself at a much deeper level because of the inner and outer work I’ve done this year. I’m blossoming because of it.

This is my first year not camouflaging my intuitive gifts behind my art – either on my website or in person. It’s given those gifts a chance to grow and serve others.

I was scared when the idea first surfaced in B-School of publicly offering my Guided Visual Journeys – the unique type of intuitive reading I give. I was rejected and bullied for speaking my Truth at a young age. And I’ve no doubt been burned at the stake in previous lifetimes.

But I’m so glad of how far I’ve come. I’ve got God, my Higher Self, my angels and guides to thank. The more I joined with them this year, the more I felt supported to journey this path of authenticity.  And the more connected I felt – to my Self and everyone else too.

When you allow our Light to shine and then share that Light with others, there’s no way you can feel lonely.  You’ll feel so connected to the Divine Consciousness in All That Is no matter if you’re alone in a room for a week painting or out and about socializing and networking.

So let us see you – truly see you. And if you don’t know how to do that, ask your Divine Helpers to show you. They’re always there to help. You’re never alone. All you have to do is ask. Their unconditional love is always flowing your way. You only need to open up to receive.

I also recommend the Real Love books.

And don’t worry if some people don’t accept you for who you are. It’s better to know that right away than 2 years later. Keep showing yourself and soon enough, you’ll find like-minded and like-hearted authentic people to hang out and do business with.  It all starts with you.

So let go of loneliness this holiday season. Happy re-connection!

Abundance – What My Guides Had to Say

November-2015-Vision-Board

Have you ever done an Intuitive Vision Board? They’re a fun and easy way to tap into your guidance. I did one on abundance on Sunday. Now I’ve got 2 clear areas to focus on for the next few months.

Step 1: Asking
After preparing myself and the space, I asked for Guidance.

The question I wrote on the back of my new board is “How do I welcome more financial abundance?

As you know, I’m nearing the end of my first year as a full-time arts entrepreneur after nearly 30 years of doing it part-time. It’s been an amazing year with the creation of my website/online shop and the Universal Law Mandalas. But I need more income if I want to remain a full-time artist.

Step 2: Receiving

I then put the timer on for 20 minutes and started tearing words and pictures out of magazines without thinking. I simply tuned into what appealed to me.

Step 3: Interpreting

When the 20 minutes was up, I started cutting the pieces and arranging my board while reflecting on the meaning of the messages.

Here’s what I got:

Keep Doing the Inner Work

  • focus on my vision
  • go back to my paraliminal CDs to realign my mindset around abundance and success
  • practice thought awareness
  • make sure I go to bed with happy thoughts so I can wake up the same way
  • live in the moment
  • keep being open to inspiration and appreciation for life’s small and big wonders
  • spend time visualizing the end feeling and the pleasure of the journey
  • have faith in outside the box business
  • take time in nature for that body-mind-spirit connection

Keep Doing the Outer Work:

  • Look for outside opportunities to share my unique art & inspiration
  • let people know the value of my work
  • write news releases
  • contribute to magazines and blogs
  • think 3-year plan with room for flexibility – set goals

What a great 1-hour business coaching session with my Guides / intuition.

There’s a whole lot more to being a full-time artist than creating the art. Now my right/intuitive brain and my left/action brain have their work to do.

I’m curious … this is the second board “Ireland” appears on this year. I wonder if I’ll be taking my mandalas there?!

New Painting “The Answer’s in the Question”

The-Question-Is-In-the-Answer-Dominique-Hurley

You’ll get it when you see the close-ups below.

So what’s this painting about?

Guidance and the intuitive process.

Your Higher Council is always ready to answer your questions.  All you need to do is ask.

By asking, you open the doors to the answer.

Try this.

  1. Ask Source, your Spirit Guides, angels, and all those working for your Highest Good a clear question. Give yourself a specific time (a 10-minute walk or 2 week window).
  2. Notice all that you become aware of (through your senses, dreams, memories, encounters, etc.)
  3. Interpret those signs in relation to your question.

You don’t have to do it alone.  You’ve got an incredible team of helpers that see the big picture and can help you connect the dots.

Speaking of dots, I had a lot of fun painting these ants for 4 hours. Each one has 4 dots, 6 legs and antennae. Very meditative.

Symbolism of the Ant & Spiral

As a totem animal, the ant shows you how to build your dreams over time – how to be the architect of your life.

They symbolize team work, oneness, patience.

The spiral represent holistic growth, awareness of the one within the context, natural progress.

So from the spiral they feed and through the spiral they come home.

The answer is in the question.

By connecting to Source and our Higher Councils, we can tap into the answers we need. But first we must ask the question.

Your Guide to Intuitive Vision Boards – 7 Easy Steps

2015-Vision-Board

Do you want to connect to your Higher Self Guidance?

Are you looking for a way to include the sacred in your day?

Would you love a meaningful activity to do on your own or with friends?

You’ll love vision boards.  They’re easy and fun and take little planning, especially if you choose my favourite kind: the intuitive vision board.

What Is It?

It’s a spontaneous tool to tap into your intuition for guidance, direction, manifestation, and fun!

It’s a way to actively engage with your Higher Self to find answers to a question that’s important in your life.

EYS_IMG_2132

Materials Needed Per Participant

  • a pile of magazines (5-10 each – ask around for contributions)
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • 1 glue stick
  • 1 poster board (usually 50 cents at dollar stores).
  • markers, stickers to decorate (optional)

7 Easy Steps To Creating Your Intuitive Vision Board

  1. Choose a clear open question to focus on (e.g. “What is in my Highest Interest for the next year”, “What do I need to get ready for my time overseas”, etc.).  Write it on the back of your poster board.
  2. Do something to ground and connect:  I get my groups to dance/move to a song without words to help them become present in their bodies and in the moment while formulating their question.
  3. Put a timer on for 20 minutes and quickly tear out as many pictures/words that attract you, exchanging magazine piles as you go – don’t judge or analyze. The time pressure is to help the right brain (intuition) lead and not give the left brain a chance to kick in.  Work fast!
  4. Then, take about an hour to cut and place your images/words while listening for messages /answers from your Higher Self about your choices of pictures and words.Everyone’s will look different – clean and orderly, or messy – it doesn’t matter. Do this quietly – allow others to dive into their own process. You may not understand all the guidance now – it will reveal itself with time as you look at your board daily or as something happens in your life to reveal why your intuition guided you to include it.
  5. Journal about it (like a letter from your Higher Self, God, etc. – “Dear _____________, …..”
  6. Share your insights with someone. More stuff will come up and their questions may help you focus on things you may have overlooked.
  7. Hang it where you see it every day and let it continue to guide you!

Examples

vision board3

Intuitive Vision Boards are not only a visual representation of your inner guidance, but also a highly practical manifestation tool.

Here are a few examples:

– Years ago, my intuitive vision board helped me decide to invest in camera equipment and take a photography workshop in New Brunswick with masters I had long admired – an amazing summer fun experience that fully satisfied my creative and inner child needs!  If I remember well, one of the leaders had actually written the article “Speaking to the Eyes of the Heart”, whose title I had used.

Some of the pieces below encouraged me to sign-up for another life changing event in my life – Flora Bowley’s 5-week online intuitive painting course called Bloom True.   I had no idea that I was going to study art again when I chose those images. I didn’t think I could manage it while teaching 2 ESL classes at university, but it reminded me to make time for myself as well.

The other pieces of my January 2013 board were instrumental in my going to study in Vienna for a year.  The one with the pelicans taking flight with the words “Now I invent instead of predict; I am a visionary” held absolutely no meaning for me when I made the board.  The expression “visionary art” wasn’t one I was very familiar with at the time.  But when I later received intuitive guidance to go to the Vienna Academy of Visionary Art, I looked up and saw those words, which served as the first confirming sign to what became a blessed decision in my life.  The fact that the school had a loving approach to art education certainly meshed with the second piece I’m showing here.

I have countless other examples, but you get the idea.

As for all intuitive tools, the images and words you choose have meaning for you, and perhaps only you.

Have confidence in your own interpretations and stay open to the mystery if they don’t speak to you past the moment when your heart exclaimed “tear this out of the magazine and add it to your vision board”.

Other Kinds of Vision Boards

There are lots of other kinds of vision board.  Two others that I’ve done in the past are:

  • Wish boards:  collect images as you go through your days and paste them up on a bulletin board as you go, or collect them in a file and make a poster once in a while.
  • Whole Self Intention Boards:  Make a poster with words to remind you of your intentions for the year. Divide your Board into emotional, spiritual, physical, and mental aspects of your life. Consider your Inner World and Outer world (environment, relationships, community).  Such boards
    • helped me make major decisions
    • reminded me to use the tools at my disposal to reach my goals
    • ensured that I maintained balance through intense times
    • and visually assisted me to live my life in line with my life purpose.

When To Do Them?

There’s no bad time for vision boards.

My preference is at at transition times such as Solstice, New Year’s Day, Summer Equinox, etc.

Some years, I’ve needed quite a few. Others, I’ve only made one.

When I’m on the road, I use my digital images and make one for my computer desktop so that I can see it whenever I boot it up. There are also online tools you can use such as Design Wizard with its own library of images for you to use.

There are all sorts of ways and times to do these.  Have fun exploring and expressing!
