Mary Magdalene Painting – “Coming Forth”

What a beautifully unexpected immersion into the essence of Mary Magdalene on Thanksgiving weekend, resulting in this painting “Coming Forth”.

I’d entered my long-weekend painting marathon with the intention to create a piece for the NL Arts & Letters Awards submission. But a few hours into the process, I had an inkling I wouldn’t be keeping this painting top secret for half a year as the competition regulations require.

After the first few layers of ceremony & paint, I became aware of the spirit of Mary Magdalene wanting to emerge from the canvas design.

My first go at painting Mary Magdalene came during a visionary art workshop in Bali in 2014, an experience better understood after a lecture on Gnostic & Kabalistic Worldviews at the Vienna Visionary Art Academy, where I studied for a year.

What little I knew of her came from my Catholic upbringing. In my mind growing up, she was the prostitute Jesus forgave, who became one of His closest followers. I didn’t think much of about her, although I loved and sometimes sang the songI Don’t Know How to Love Him” in Jesus Christ Superstar.

Millennia of assumptions and teachings by the Church on Jesus’s celibacy may cause my following explorations to feel scandalous. If so, I ask you to breathe deeply, knowing that it’s not my intent to prove anything or to change your beliefs. This is but a window into my own mind shifts and experiences. If it plants seeds of curiosity for you, so be it. There’s a plethora of historic, scholastic and channeled resources to feast on before you decide what is true for you.

A few movies, like the controversial The DaVinci Code, planted seeds of curiosity within me back in 2006. Tom Hank’s character’s search for the Holy Grail did more than allude to Mary Magdalene’s marriage to Jesus Christ and to their having at least one child. “In the (2003) book, Dan Brown states that the Priory of Sion and “all descriptions of artwork, architecture, documents and secret rituals in this novel are accurate.”

But it wasn’t until 2019 that an alternative truth to that taught by the Church took deeper roots in my consciousness. While on a sacred pilgrimage to Glastonbury, I was guided to the channeled books “Anna, Grandmother of Jesus: A Message of Wisdom and Love” and its sequel, “Anna, the Voice fo the Magdalenes” by Claire Heartsong.

My hands vibrated with such strong energy just holding the first book. That had never happened before. Some of what I read definitely stretched me. Yet it also resonated at my core. I believed it on a cellular level even if my brain had a hard time with parts of what was being revealed about the holy family.

Also while in Glastonbury, I became aware of modern Mystery Schools mainly or strongly linked to Mary Magdalene – but didn’t feel any callings to investigate further.

Thanksgiving weekend, however, when I became aware that I was being called to paint Mary Magdalene again, my intellectual mind wanted to know more. So while painting on the 3rd day and in the days after, I listened to 2 audio books that delved much deeper into recent revelations about Miriam of Magdala.

The first was The Gospel of Mary Magdalene by Jean-Yves Leloup, based on papyrus codices found in recent times.

The Gospel of Mary (found in 1896 but only made widely available in the 1950s) was one of a few Gnostic gospels rejected by the early Christian church, along with others from the Nag Hammadi Library found in the desert in 1945, including Gospels of Philip, Thomas, Peter, and Bartholomew . I’d been curious about these since first hearing about them, but had never followed through on learning more.

In this first audio-book of the weekend, the author gives a line-by-line commentary of the found gospel (which alas is missing several pages) revealing the eminence of the divine feminine in Christian thought. He also demonstrates how the notion of Mary’s background as a prostitute was based on a faulty translation.

He explains, however, that Jesus did cure her of 7 demons, or rather cleared her 7 chakras, making her the purest of channels, the most receptive of the apostles to his True Teachings. Her presence at and after Jesus’s death and her role as his intimate partner and the founder of Christianity are also discussed.

The second audio-book was The Meaning of Mary Magdalene: Discovering the Woman at the Heart of Christianity by Cynthia Bourgeault. She “examines the Bible, church tradition, art, legend, and the newly discovered texts to see what’s there. She then applies her own reasoning and intuition, informed by the wisdom of the ages-old Christian contemplative tradition.” Very very interesting indeed!

This book and a chat with a friend who is also working the energy of Mary Magdalene led me to doing a bit of research on the many pilgrimage sites in Southern France where she is believed to have lived her last 30 years as a recluse in a cave in the Sainte-Baume massif.

Part of me wonders if another pilgrimage is in the making for me, this time to France, but until I receive strong intuitive guidance on that count, I’ll simply stay open the idea.

Are you curious to know more? Just use the links in the text above or follow your own path of research. There’s so much out there.

I’m no expert on the facts when it comes to Mary Magdalene. I’m simply becoming more aware and open to her continued presence in modern times.

The intuitive visionary painting process was my saying “yes” to her invitation.

Coming Forth – the symbolism in the Mary Magdalene painting

The Archway and the Name

After several background layers, an archway became clear in my mind’s eye. That’s when I was given the name “Coming Forth”.

I got chills when, 2 days later, while listening to the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, I found out the last line was:

10) And when they heard this they began to go forth to proclaim and to preach.

This came after Levi rebuked Peter for distrusting Mary:

8) But if the Savior made her worthy, who are you indeed to reject her? Surely the Savior knows her very well.

9) That is why He loved her more than us. Rather let us be ashamed and put on the perfect Man, and separate as He commanded us and preach the gospel, not laying down any other rule or other law beyond what the Savior said.

The link between “Coming Forth” and the apostles going forth is what perked my ears as “forth” isn’t a common expression nowadays.

I felt the energy coming through the archway from the past into the present – an invitation to allow what wanted to emerge. It’s been on its way for a long time. Are you ready?

The Haloed Head

Then came the large iridescent face which appears as a transparent white from some angles and various vibrant colours from others.

As I translated my vision into design, I hoped to capture its energies of tenderness, serenity, eternal dignified wisdom, divine feminine, and unconditional love for the Christ. That love extended to me and to all who gazed into her featureless yet striking face / presence.

The 2 smaller rings of the halo were created by adding layers of mark-making to add depth & colour under the transparent white engraved with multitudes of spirals.

Filled with Christ Consciousness, wisdom, experience, and otherworldliness, these 2 luminous rings feel very much alive. Mary’s radiance is still very much alive…

The 3rd and largest ring of her halo, created with thousands of dots of various iridescent colours & sizes, represents her help in bringing this radiant Christ Consciousness to the planet. If you look closely, you’ll see representations of dwellings and the Elements.

As I reflected on what was coming forth, I could feel the invitation to look beyond the historic texts and character depictions to a living gospel in our everyday lives.

What does this mean to you?

The Seven Roses

I’d already painted the 7 roses in a triangular and symmetrical fashion before understanding their meaning.

At first, I felt that the placement had to do with the Holy Trinity. But which one was the question. Here are a few options according to Avia, my favourite symbol expert:

  • Spirit, Mind, Body
  • Father, Son, Holy Ghost
  • Mother, Father, Child
  • Past, Present, Future
  • Power, Intellect, Love
  • Creator, Destroyer, Sustainer
  • Thought, Feeling, Emotion
  • Mother, Maiden, Crone
  • Other world, Mortal world, Celestial world

I’ll let you feel your way to what’s true for you.

I also knew that the triangle represents our connection with the Divine, enlightenment, revelation, manifestation, and a higher perspective.

I wasn’t sure why I was guided to paint 7 roses, however. Not until I later heard about Jesus clearing Mary’s 7 chakras, or casting out 7 demons as more commonly told.

So what had been her 7 blockages became her 7 divine feminine gifts – preparing her (and us through our own clearing) to be receptive to Divine Guidance. This is why she was able to receive teachings that the other disciples could not receive or understand.

The roses here represent God’s love at work in the world, made possible by the example of Jesus’s healing of Mary. They’re also a symbol of the immortal love between these 2 souls, a love that continues to bless humanity today.

In these roses’ offering on this canvas, they become an invitation to also become pure receptacles and therefore more intuitive and Connected to Guidance in our lives for our Highest Good and the Good of All.

The Mary Totem

The way I felt inspired to develop the design for the emerging figure of Mary Magdalene felt as if I was constructing a totem – a series of powerful symbols representing the essence of Mary rather than Mary, the historic figure.

Had you noticed that her halo, pregnant belly and foothold on earth are all of the same size? Again, a trinity of circles.

The circle itself is a symbol of God, of wholeness, perfection and timelessness.

This halo appears at the third eye of her Higher Self portrait in the background.

Her pregnant belly is also a wedding band, identifying her as the divine bride of Jesus.

At its centre, open to the iridescent blue of Mary’s face, is a circle of gold dots and light rays representing the coming forth of Christ Light, Christ Consciousness. It also represent the holy lineage – a legacy of Love in various forms.

As for the Earth, she is present in and on it but from beyond it. The story of Mary Magdalene is one of this world and otherworldly at the same time.

Her chest is a heart pointing to the Heavens – to her throat and upper chakras, a conduit for the Divine.

Linking her pregnant belly to the earth is a chalice, a holy grail – representing her openness to receive and share what Christ has given her.

Together, those 3 shapes form an hourglass –  the ascension of the planet being birthed through this time of the Sacred Feminine, one holy instant at a time.

Her long orange hair represents the sensuous part of her intimacy with Christ as well as her relationship to the planet through her senses. This is a reference to her intuition, to her feeling her way instead of thinking her way through life and beyond.

There’s deep meaning to her hand resting on her Higher Self’s temple. The palm actually feels to be facing inward, holding the invisible presence of Jesus, whose head would be where her Higher-Self’s Eye is.

When I asked for a meaning, I was shown how, still today, she is holding Space for the Presence of her Divine Companion so that we may all be touched by his Divine Love as the Sacred Feminine and Masculine unite for greater harmony in the world.

The Story Continues

Tears of joy came to my eyes as I felt the painting process to be complete.

Once again, I felt so blessed to have been the conduit through which a sacred painting had been birthed.

But I knew that this ending was just the beginning. I am looking forward to what more will come forth from this experience & vision.

When I shared it with my friend who is also working with the energy of Mary Magdalene, she immediately knew the painting was meant to accompany her on her journey.

Sunset in the Dreamtime – painting your happy place

Where is your happy place?

If you asked me, I just might tell you about my sunset kayak on the Mobile canal on the Irish Loop of Newfoundland with my friends Tina White & Kerri Best (featured in the video above).

I rarely paint what I see with my eyes open. I do, however, paint what I feel. And my experience there was multi-dimensional!

The painting “Sunset in the Dreamtime” is the colour, texture, and enhanced crystal energy of a moment in time – a happy place. Can you feel its energy?

The space between the canvases represent that time between waking moments when you re-emerge into Spirit – your daily reset button. It also acts as an altar to keep / energize the stones you sleep with. This past year, an amethyst and rose quartz crystal have been my bedmates.

According to Abraham Hicks, when you fall asleep after a day of feeling good, in alignment with your Higher Self, you’ll glide easily into pleasant dreamtime before re-emerging into non-Physical. Your dreams are your transition there.

“All dreams are your conscious interpretation of the vibrational contenance that you’ve been practicing lately.”

So spend time in appreciation, beauty, and love, every day to manifest more of the same in your dreams – your daily gateway to re-connecting with Spirit.

Once there, we all get to hit the reset button. Isn’t that comforting?!

The trick is to then carry that alignment found when our consciousness is focused on the non-physical back into waking life. Abraham Hicks talks of the importance of those first 17 seconds upon waking – the time it takes to set a vibration.

Visual cues such as a painting of your happy place can remind you to end and start your day with appreciation, creating high vibrational momentum for the journey forward.

So yes, enjoy your reset time in that sacred space of sleep. But also focus your attention on what raises your vibration during the day to ensure a smoother transition into sleep and a happier, healthier waking life.

As Abraham Hicks says,

“You are Source Energy in a physical body…. You’re born with a guidance system that lets you know whether or not you’re allowing the energy that creates worlds to flow through you unfettered in full blown fashion, or if you’re pinching it off. So it’s important right now that you start to care about how you feel … in thoughts and actions.

My sunset kayak represented in “Sunset in the Dreamtime” was truly a feel-good blessing in my life. Painting my happy place and seeing it every time I walk by it in my studio helps to keep me in my inner happy place.

The labradorite that mimics the logo on the kayak energizes the piece. Labradorite is a powerful protector against negativity, raises consciousness and enhances intuition. The rose quartz is a stone of deep inner healing, harmony, peace and universal love.

Do you have something on your walls that reminds you to go to your happy place – both inwardly and outwardly?

If not, go ahead and create it or purchase an artist’s rendition that speaks to your heart & soul.

See if any of my paintings resonate with your inner callings. You can see all my available originals here or order prints of your favourites in your choice of size and medium here.

Do Chickens Fly? Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway

intuitive painting of a snow owl in flight

“Night Vision” (12″x36″) – Prints available in many sizes & mediums.

Chickens don’t fly very high, very far, or very long. The longest flight recorded was 13 seconds – 10 feet high and 300 feet in distance. So often, they just don’t bother flying at all.

Believe it or not, I’m a big chicken. I’m scared of so much.

People can’t believe that when they look at my life – living and working intuitively in 3 careers on 3 continents and 5 provinces, several returns to school, and now living as a full-time artist & Lightworker.

So maybe it’s not true. But I keep saying it.

After all, I’m concerned at having to figure out my way from the Gatwick airport to Glastonbury with a heavy suitcase in 2 days – 2 trains, a bus, and a taxi after an overnight flight…. scary, right?!

So is the idea of being in a huge crowd of strangers at a Goddess Conference for 9 days. Will I be drained by so much people time? Will I be able to take full advantage of the morning-til-night schedule? Will I have the right clothing for the weather? Will I like my B & B?  Will I have enough sun screen and if not, will I be able to find hypoallergenic natural stuff?  What is this “Gateway” my Team of Divine Helpers told me about?

Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway

I’m just not a natural risk-taker. I’m not a big fan of change either… but the only thing constant in life is change itself.

The upside to all this is that if I’m guided, nothing stops me.

I’ve come to trust my intuition. I still feel the fear, but it gets mixed with a level of excitement that’s a sure sign of impending growth.

Intuition is always a call for growth. Growth means stretching your comfort zones. And stretching can be uncomfortable. Unfamiliar. But oh so worth it!

We’re not meant to stay small. We have to break through that shell that’s our limiting beliefs and fears to spread our wings and fly!

Breath by breath, step by step, keep asking “What would love do now?” Tune into your heart and soar.

One book that really helped me years ago is Susan Jeffers classic ” Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway“. If being a chicken has kept you on the ground or limited the scope of your flight, get yourself a copy. You won’t regret it.

And perhaps stop affirming that you’re a chicken.  Oops, didn’t I just do that?!

Spread Your Owl Wings

Instead, recognize yourself for the wise, powerful, sensitive & agile owl that you are.

You have it in you to appreciate the mystery of the dark nights, seeing with a vision that pierces through the shadows. You too can navigate through the dreamtime to access your Guidance. Through intuition and awareness, you can find your way to new heights and journey new distances.

Emulate the owl. Turn your neck to see a situation from all angles. Your awareness of your fears and of the reality before you will help you gain a more realistic perception of a situation.

Through strategy and awe-inspiring maneuvering, you’ll fly through the challenges to grasp the opportunities.

There’s nothing wrong with chickens. But if you’re ready to claim dominion in this sacred realm that is your life, you may want to start calling yourself an owl instead.

Embrace your magical ability to shift form and reality through the power of your thoughts and actions.

I am.

So here I go. I’m flying to England, embracing the mystery of what my weeks there hold. I’m excited! I’ve done all my research & reservations and now, I just have to trust.

Yes, I feel the fear. I recognize my ego’s desire to keep me in the status quo, to keep me living small, to worry about the “what ifs” and “hows”.

But I also recognize the presence of my True Self. Like the owl, I’m connected to Spirit. I trust that my Guidance can see the big picture and is guiding me each step of the way.

Where are you being a chicken in your life? Are you ready to call in your inner owl instead?

Feel the fear and do it anyway. It’s a much more fulling way to be.

Disclaimer: No identification with actual chickens (living or deceased) is intended or should be inferred. God loves chickens as much as owls. It’s just an expression.

A Close Look at Night Vision II – The Painting

Allow this wise and benevolent owl to open your eyes to a new way of seeing – yourself & the world.  “Night Vision II” has come out of the enchanted forest to guide the way to freer & happier insight.

Note:  The mist in the forest appears white from some angles and iridescent violet and blue from others.

Re-Connecting – A Big Art Project

It’s coming together! You’ve witnessed its inception, but none of us knew the full scope of it. We still don’t. But it’s becoming clearer.

I wanted to share this with you as a window into my role as Artist/Creator (see previous post on roles). It’s a long read, but you’ll know if you’re meant to read it.

My 3 Kinds of Paintings

Different kinds of paintings are born in my studio:

  1. individual pieces  – see  my online shop.
  2. Soul Energy Portraits – an intensely beautiful soul-shifting process that includes 2 weeks or more of creative energetic connection. of 3 spots open until the Fall  Learn more here.
  3. big projects, like my 2015 Enter the Mandala: 12 Universal Laws Collection. That series was channeled as a way for my Team of Divine Helpers to teach me the Laws for my own life and now form the basis of a touring & teaching collection that I trust will one day find a good home together.

Re-Connecting: the next big project

“Our Lady of Light”

Now, I’m in the flow of my next big project!

Re-Connecting” is a developing body of work answering an inner call to examine my spiritual roots from my early Catholic upbringing to a more universal spirituality.

Phase 1 consists of 11 church-window-inspired visionary paintings (24″ x 48″) framing my universal spiritual journey.

As usual, I have no idea what the paintings will portray until its revealed during the creative process, layer by layer, painting after painting.

I begin by working on the stained-glass-window-inspired frame and the rest reveals itself from there.

The bigger picture for the collection only became clearer in my mind when I had to get some details down for an arts grant submission to help finance my time and financial investment on the project.

I’m committed to finishing Phase 1 by the end of August. That’s why I only have 2 Soul Energy Portrait spots open until the Fall.

I’ve just finished #4 of 11:

  1. Every Dot A Prayer (Top Secret… to be revealed in the Spring as it was submitted to the provincial Arts & Letters Awards)
  2. Our Lady of Light
  3. With Arms Wide Open
  4. Supersoul (full blog post next week)

The individual originals are for sale. Their imagery will form the basis for some future publishing project that is as yet unclear.

Background & Inspiration

“With Arms Wide Open”

September 2018. The light streaming through the stained glass windows caught my attention as I sat with my father in Ottawa’s Notre Dame Basilica for the first time since my mother was moved into long-term care.

We used to attend evening mass when I visited from out-of-province. The change in time and family circumstances offered a new perspective on this familiar context.

As I contemplated the narrative, symbolism, and beauty of these stained glass windows, I received the inspiration for a new collection resembling their style incorporating my spiritual journey.

Back in Newfoundland & Labrador, I immersed myself in the creation of the first piece to meet the deadline for the provincial Arts & Letters Awards. 70 hours of focused meditative studio work resulted in the painting “Every Dot a Prayer”.

Building on what I learned at the Vienna Academy of Visionary Art in 2013/14 and my evolving full-time practice since, it pushed me to the edge of my artistic skills and brought me deeper into the energy healing work that is characteristic of my art.

One unexpected aspect of its creative process was communion with community. After sharing how I was praying & chanting while painting dots for family members and friends, prayer requests flooded in.

This intensity of time, energy, and communion fuelled the evolution of the imagery with every new layer of paint.

As with many of my intuitive paintings, I did not know what it would represent before I started. Visions received in meditation and inspiration from contemplating each new layer informed its content. My usual energy work through the art expanded hundredfold, enhancing the studio experience and final painting.

This reminded me of the value of uninterrupted focused time in the studio – a challenge with the need for income generation as a sole breadwinner and full-time artist.

Research

I was being called to go deeper.

The next 2 Mother Mary pieces in the collection were based on on-site grotto visits, ceremony,  channeling, and different kinds of community involvement.   (see previous blog post 1 & 2)

My process is evolving, becoming richer. The results show it. I feel this is my best work yet.

In Community in Carbonear

Another example of the research I’ll conduct is the scheduled 1-week mini-residency at Ocean View Gallery in Carbonear, NL.

Piece #7 on my evolving role within the context of community will be the focus of my one-week artist residency there.

Hosted by the gallery, I will move my studio practice to a public space. This art lab experiment will take place during my scheduled April exhibition (dates TBD) that includes some of the “Re-Connecting” pieces along with other paintings not exhibited in my previous exhibition there.

Called to Glastonbury

I also plan to attend the 22nd Goddess Conference with pre-conference pilgrimages and research at the Chalice Well Garden in Glastonbury UK from July 25-August 9th for the final piece of the series.

My Team of Divine Helpers are telling me that this will be a gateway for me. That’s all I know. Cryptic, but I’m used to that. It’s scary and exciting. That’s how I know I’ll be growing more into my Self.

It will be my first time there, but I have felt called to the site since 2008, seen it in visions, used its gifted holy waters in my art and often painted its iconic sacred geometry.

This project’s culmination piece will offer a new window into my spiritual journey ahead, exposing me to the work of other spiritual artists and journeyers and potentially opening doors for future exhibitions/ collaborations.

That’s also where Phase 2, if there is to be one, will be revealed.  Fun, eh?

Impact

“Supersoul” Full blog post next Tuesday!

My experiences in the creation of the first 4 pieces are evidence of this collection’s potential impact.

They have already resulted in the significant advancement of my artistic skills, aesthetic value of my work, and scope of the energy practices used during the visionary intuitive creative process.

“Every Dot a Prayer” opened me to the impact of communion with community on the quality of my artistic practice in the studio and resulting imagery that arose from it.

“Our Lady of Light”, “With Arms Wide Open” and “Supersoul” have reconnected me to my roots to honour parts of myself that had been ignored in my art.

I’m excited to explore where the 7 other pieces will take me.

An important aspect of the growing nature of this collection is its invitation to open my happy hermit studio zone to involve community in evolving ways (on-location visionary research, social media engagement, family inquiry, scope of energy work during the painting phase, and April residency).

I’m not a very social person. As the introvert child of Air Force parents, we moved frequently and lived far from extended family. I grew up in relative isolation, which had its advantages and disadvantages. The concept of community was foreign to me until my adult years.

Recently, I have explored how to expand my praxis outside of my comfort zone. Spending a week painting in the context of an art lab mini-residency during my exhibition is a personal stretch and artistic risk I’m ready for. The piece I’ll be working on will be be sourced in part from discussion and meditation on the topic of community. The scope of this art lab will be completely new to me.

Also, my art so far has largely been sourced from what I see with my eyes closed – the visions I receive in meditation or when I channel. They’re visual representations of my inner experiences.

Painting based on what I see with my eyes open at significant sites from my childhood or those that I’ve only seen in meditation or dreamtime (like in Glastonbury, UK) will be a whole new approach.

I look forward to visiting more sacred sites for the purpose of painting my experiences there (such as at the grottos or the Chalice Well Garden). I expect it to help me go deeper into both the personal and universal symbolic archetypes that have long been characteristic of my work.

An Exercise in Faith – Following my Path

“What would you do if money wasn’t an issue?”

Well, I’m doing it.

Because of the timing of the grant deadlines/jurying periods, I won’t find out if I get the grant until July, at which time I’ll have already invested almost the entire amount.

It’s an interesting exercise in faith and abundance mentality.

I have to spend the money to get the grant. But I don’t know if I’ll be awarded the funds. The Canada Council for the Arts gets a lot of submissions!

I’m being asked once again to trust the Universe to provide and proceed without a doubt that either way, it’s all happening perfectly. I’ve been guided. I’ll follow that Guidance.

Fundraising

I’m off to a great start.

During my Christmas visit to Ottawa, it became time to buy a new Mac. My 8-year old one is giving out on me and a lot of my work is online.

So I put it out on FB and in my newsletter that I was fundraising for it. My initial poster sales + 1 Divine Storytelling Time intuitive reading + the payment for my February Soul Energy Portrait Experience on top of what was left in my operational account covers my unusually high January credit card bill. Yay!

I like to live within my means. I’ve designed a simple life that affords me the luxury to be a full-time artist after decades of pursuing that passion part-time.

I invest in my dreams, but usually not before I raise the funds.

Committing to the Re-Connecting project is motivating me to ask my fans to be channels for the abundance of the Universe.

If you’re moved to invest in my dreams and the inspiration that will come of it, I welcome it!

There are many ways to financially contribute:

  1. Donations via paypal or Canadian etransfers ([email protected])
  2. Buy  original paintings, canvas prints
  3. Commission a Divine Storytelling Time intuitive Reading, or Soul Energy Portrait (March & June spots open)
  4. Hire me to lead a workshop, keynote, etc.
  5. Order greeting cards, mandala talisman pouches (only 2 in stock) and magnetic bookmarks
  6. Other creative ideas. Contact me to discuss.

Bev’s Soul Energy Portrait & Traveller’s Prayer

Bev's Soul Energy Portrait

“Thanks so very much, from the bottom of my healing-so-quickly heart for my meditation and your inspirational, educational, thought-provoking emails. Your/my beautiful painting is moving me to the depths of my soul.

Our journey has opened my whole being to so much! You’ve ignited my fire so to speak, and I feel so much more alive and confident in my decision making. Thanks for being one of my intuition teachers/ guides. I truly feel I’ve grown tenfold in so little time … The tools you’ve provided, insight you’ve shared, and the motivation and support are – and I’ve no doubt will continue to be – an important part of this mindful intuitive journey.”

This was part of an email I received during Bev Sharpe’s Soul Energy Portrait Experience as 2016 became 2017. Now, 1.5 years later, Bev offered to share her experience as part of her unfolding process.

Interview with Bev 1.5 Years Later

1.  What inspired you to invest in a Soul Energy Portrait Experience back in 2016?

I met you at a Wellness Expo and started considering it then. Later, we were paired to share a room at a spiritual retreat where you were teaching. That confirmed it.

I was just finishing up a 5.5-year contract and ready to take time off to travel to be more in touch with the spiritual side of me. I knew I’d be in Canada to celebrate Christmas and England for New Year’s. Apart from that, I had no definite plan of where I was going.

2. How did our process influence your journey?

Communicating with you during my travels validated my experiences. This journey ( both with you and the travel) brought me so far! I was receiving all my Love Notes from you and it was divine timing. It gave me an opportunity to work on things. It was like the whole Universe was just open to me.

Our process allowed me to go inside and move away from ego and listen to what my body, my heart-mind, intuition was telling me. Seeing my painting electronically allowed me to see all the directions that I could go and the rivulets were never ending. It encouraged me to look around, ask myself what I needed & wanted, and listen attentively to the provided guidance & answers.

3.  How do you feel about your painting 1.5 years later?

I didn’t see the completed painting for 6 months (chuckle). My intended 2 months of travel evolved into 6 months. I feel that speaks loudly to the impact of the process for me!
I had all the digital photos, printed Love Notes, and meditation as part of my traveling altar. That was so important for me.
When I got my package upon my return to Newfoundland, I felt like I’d come home. Oh my goodness! Now, I’m still not sure if I want to stay or leave, or where I’m going to live or work, but I have my painting and so I’ll always be home.
I look at it daily. Recently, I’ve been sitting with it once a week. It has now reached a point where it’s helping with my creativity due in part to the messages it provides me and the journeys I take while sitting with it. A different aspect of it catches my attention at first  (sun, tree of life, labyrinth) – which helps me go into a meditative state, so I can listen to the messages.
On Friday, I created a sacred space with it.  I was torn in body, mind and spirit about a decision I needed to make, and sat with the painting.  My emotions were running really high. I rooted myself in my sitting space and in a very short time, I received my answer. It was amazing. Every one of my senses was heightened. I was feeling “Wow, I can tap into this?  That’s grace!”
Recently, I shared my Soul Energy Portrait with like minded people and it sparked such interesting conversations that would have never been opened up to me 2 years ago. I love it!

An Inspired Prayer

While co-creating Bev’s experience with her Higher Self & Team of Divine Helpers, I was inspired to write this Traveller’s Prayer. It incorporates many of the messages I received for her and symbolism from the painting. Bev shared that it’s now travelling with her sweet soul sister. We offer it here for you, so that it may now support your transformational journey.

A TRAVELLER’S PRAYER

Dear God and Guiding Spirits,
Angels of Light and Love,
Guide me on my Path to my Highest Good.

Thank you for supporting me
As I transmute the energies
That no longer serve me
To live, learn, and laugh
on my transformational journey.

Bless me in the radiant beam
Of your unconditional Love
That I may mirror your Light
At my very core
In all that I am and all that I do.

As above so below.
As within, so without.
Give me divine patience
To allow the answers to evolve
From the questions of my soul.

Guide me as I continue to explore
The many paths and perspectives before me.
From my centre to the outer rings
Of infinite possibility,
I am rich in opportunities and blessings.

May I accept with ease and grace
the path of least resistance
Abundant in the fruits of my labour
And kisses from the Universe.

I am ready for this daily rebirth
Back to my Self
And my shapeshifting Path.

I am my magnific-essence
Born of the Tree of Life,
I flow, I grow
I overflow and glow.

Aho

MindShift – the painting

painting "MindShift"

What we do for others is truly a gift for ourselves and those around us.

That’s how I feel as I gaze upon this painting. It’s slowly come into being over the past 6 months (plus a lifetime).

Layer by layer, it evolved as I did. But before I could finish it, I had to allow the energies of the last few Soul Energy Portraits to bathe my own experience.

Ask any energy worker. When we channel Universal Love & Light, it’s as much a gift to us as it is for the person we’re channeling for.

The energy blesses us on its way through.

That’s not all though.

As I witnessed the radiance of my clients’ Higher Selves, their Magnific-Essence also touched my soul.

This painting brings our communal process to an even Higher level, opening space for all those ready to receive its energy. Are you ready?

MindShift Symbolism

In its essence, “MindShift” is about freeing the mind through a fine balance between insight and innovation.

It’s about realigning with your soul through a change of focus and perception to break through the barriers of illusion. It’s about seeing, knowing, being, and expressing your Truth.

Peacock energy is present to transform lurking poisons into beauty. It assists you to use your experiences for growth. You’re asked to shift your perspective. Challenges can then be accepted as happening for you, not to you.

Dragonfly energy circles around you to help cut through self-created illusion. It allows you to understand your ill-serving beliefs and self-beliefs. It encourages you to let go of your perceived limitations and doubts.  By focusing your attention on pearls of pure potential, it moves you forward to fulfill your birthright.

It’s through this inner work that peace of mind and peace of heart can be achieved.

You can now access your intuition – the full moon that spills over the edges of your physical being to light your Path.

This inner glow emanates from a Celtic design with a triple spiral (triskele). It represents the harmonious union, motion and transformation achieved through

  • life-death-rebirth,
  • spirit-mind-body,
  • mother-father-child,
  • past-present-future,
  • power-intellect-love,
  • and more.

Every dot in this inner sphere is a prayer, a seed, a portal to the Divine – nourishing you with Divine Love & Light as you journey on your path to our Highest Good.

MindShift is an invitation. It’s the birthplace of Acceptance, Self-Love, Love.

Is there any wonder I’m in Love with this painting?

Q & A Video: What Kinds of Paint Do You Use?

I’m a huge fan of Golden Artist Colours – a professional grade acrylic paint company from the States. Yes, it’s expensive, but you get what you pay for. I know because I’ve tried many other kinds in my time.

What many don’t know is that acrylic paint comes in 3 viscosities, or thicknesses.  Most people are familiar with “heavy body” paint. It’s thick like toothpaste.  I was never a big fan of these.

I prefer both “fluid ” (flows like a heavy cream) and high flow (flows like water). These act more like the acrylic inks I started playing with in the late 80s when I finally found my artistic medium of choice.

The beauty with professional acrylic paints is that there are no fillers or extenders. There’s the same saturation of pigments in all 3 thicknesses. No dilution. That’s why there’s no comparison to dollar store paints that don’t use the same quality of pigments and are full of chalk and other fillers.

Golden Artist Colours also has a whole line of gels, mediums, and varnishes to play with.

When I lived in Saskatchewan, I splurged by buying small containers of every gel and medium they had on offer. Then I just played in the studio until I found the ones that connected me to creative freedom and joy.

Art is part science. It’s good to know how materials work to get the most out of them and to make sure your paintings last.

But art is also about embracing the mystery. It’s about learning and playing with Spirit through the creative process.

There are no mistakes. There’s only learning and layering until one day you say: This one’s done. Next!

Keep playing until you find what speaks to you.

I almost failed art in high school, but that’s just because I hadn’t found my medium.

Thank God (literally) I didn’t give up!

P.S. They invited me back for a solo exhibition a few years later 🙂
