Cradled in the Infinite – new painting

Cradled in the Infinite – Vision & Purpose
After settling into my new apartment, Spirit guided me to paint Cradled in the Infinite — a 2’ x 4’ canvas to hang beside my bed.
Every element reflects protection, healing, transformation, and the endless sacred flow of life as a spirit in human form.
This painting is now a companion for rest, reflection, and connection — a visual prayer for sleep and alignment.
After a little more than a week into being, it’s already making a difference in my life. May it now in yours too.
The Background – Infinite Field of Light & Life
A soft and luminous field of countless layers of colour, texture, words, prayerful intention, and quiet symbolism forms a sacred atmosphere that holds all the other elements together.
Soft washes of transparent white veil and reveal the richness beneath, like clouds parting to show glimmers of mystery and light.
Hints of iridescence shimmer as the viewer moves, reflecting the ever-shifting nature of Spirit itself — always present, yet never still.
This background is not empty space; it is the Infinite Field — the unseen dimension that cradles every dream, every lifetime, every breath of creation.
The Peacock and Sleeping Figure
To the left of the canvas, a magnificent peacock rises, its feathers surrounding and sheltering the figure in a graceful infinity-shaped embrace. On the right lies the sleeping figure — a representation of myself at rest.
Peacocks are ancient symbols of renewal and transformation. They eat poisonous plants and snakes, turning that energy into beauty — shimmering feathers radiant with light.
In the same way, sleep allows us to alchemize the day’s experiences — physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual — into nourishment for the soul’s evolution.
According to the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, sleep is not only a time of rest but also of subtle purification. As the body and mind grow still, the soul withdraws into the Infinite, where the knots of karma begin to loosen and the weight of daily experience dissolves in divine light. In this sacred rhythm, sleep becomes a nightly renewal — a quiet opportunity for healing, forgiveness, and grace to flow unimpeded.
The infinity symbol reminds us that our souls are limitless — that sleep is a bridge to our Higher Self, allowing us to realign, recharge, and connect with divine guidance.
Look closely at the feathers. See how their heart-shaped centres point outward, surrounded by hundreds of dots. In my work, dots represent energy, vibration, and prayers — a reminder that what we see is part matter, part energy. This imagery supports the higher vibration needed to connect with Spirit during sleep and encourages receptivity to divine messages.
The bed of feathers links the sleeping self with the eternal dance of Spirit.
The Angel Above – Divine Protection & Love
At the top of the infinity symbol, an angel extends her hands in a gesture of protection, healing, and love. Draped in green, she carries the energy of Archangel Raphael, offering gentle restoration to body, mind, and soul while lifting the sleeper’s prayers, hopes, and the energy of the day into the Infinite.
Her features echo those of the sleeping and meditating figures, reminding us that Divine protection and guidance are not separate from us — they live within. So in addition to representing our Team of Divine Helpers, she embodies the soul’s higher aspects — the versions of ourselves aligned with Divine will and love.
From her palms, streams of living light descend, flowing through the moon before reaching the sleeper below. The moon, keeper of rhythm and reflection, gathers and transforms the light — harmonizing Divine radiance with the rhythms of Earth, so its power can heal through balance and grace.
Together, angel and moon become a conduit for Divine Love — that endless current that moves through all things, including the natural rhythms of night and day.
She is a reminder that celestial blessings surround us and that our connection to our Higher Self is always alive, radiant, and accessible.
The Meditative Figure – Conscious Alignment
Another figure appears, bathed in spiritual violets, kneeling on a meditation bench — quieter and darker in tone than the sleeping self.
This figure reflects the work of alignment we do in waking life — through yoga, meditation, affirmations, and spiritual practice.
I’m sure she appeared in this co-creative process as a gentle reminder to enter into sleep after connecting with God and setting my intentions for the night.
She also appeared as encouragement to follow-through on my intention to begin my days with a 2-hour sacred routine that includes yoga, meditation, affirmations, and more.
She is the visual anchor to commune with the Divine before and after sleep so that daily life remains rooted in Spirit and not in the mind’s constant to-do list or the numbing past habit of watching Netflix until I fall asleep…
Ancestral Wisdom
Though lab‑created, each stone is charged with intention.
A “ruby” (corundum ) rests at the third eye of the sleeping figure—its vibrant red echoing protection, vitality and heart‑energy.
A synthetic diamond (cubic zirconia) adorns the third eye of the angel and meditator—symbolising clarity, higher vision and connection to the divine.
And at the crown chakra of the peacock, an amethyst nestled in real mica chips holds the energy of love, compassion and spiritual insight.
I’ll admit they make me smile because they are proportionately bigger than the painting called for. They look more like headlamps than third eye sparks. But I like the symbolism of that too – projecting Light in the darkness.
Symbolism & Spiritual Essence
Every element of this painting carries layers of spiritual meaning.
It’s about transformation, healing, divine guidance, protection, and the sacred flow between night and day — and between lifetimes.
By meditating on the imagery every night, I trust it will help me reconnect with my Higher Self, embrace divine support, and honour the rhythm of renewal in my life.
Cradled in the Infinite is now a personal visual prayer — for me, and for anyone who needs a reminder of the sacred, infinite connection within and around us.
May it also inspire in you restful sleep, spiritual alignment, and the gentle awareness of love and protection that surrounds us always.
