New Painting & Prayer – From this Day Forward
Today’s post is a sharing of a very personal painting experience. This canvas is not only colour and form—it is the prayer I needed to speak over my life in a new home, a new season, and a new way of being.
I’m offering it with the hope that something within it reaches you: that you might feel less alone on your own journey, or that you may find a spark of insight that invites you forward.
If this story, these symbols, or this prayer brings you comfort, strength, or inspiration, then the act of sharing has already served its purpose.
The Painting:
There is a stained-glass window above the altar at St. Bartholomew’s church in Ottawa—a window my father and I first witnessed in the middle of a Sunday service during the city’s Open House Days.
That unexpected moment of beauty, with the choir singing just behind us and their voices vibrating through body, mind, and spirit, carried us into community and prayer.
When I finally moved into my own studio apartment in that same neighbourhood, I carried the knowing that the shape of that stained-glass window would become the vessel for a personal prayer—one painted into presence.
What intuitively emerged on the canvas, one pane at a time, is a sanctuary of symbols that serve as living reminders on my Path:
- the spiritual eye beheld in deep meditation;
- the angels holding sun and moon;
- two profiles of my Self framing my intention for daily practice;
- the tree of grounding and growth embracing planet Earth;
- the Chalice Well cover with its Vesica Pisces geometry in the river of Divine Flow;
- and three versions of myself—awake and ready, in meditation, and in yoga—each reaching toward the labyrinth of the soul.
To define the window’s frame, I used a highly textured granular gel, giving the borders a tangible depth that catches light and shadow. This texture was important because it mirrors the multi-layered nature of the spiritual journey—solid yet luminous, grounded yet alive with movement. It turns the frame itself into a meditative space, inviting the viewer to feel the passage into each sacred pane.
This painting is a prayer for my walls, a compass for my becoming.
It reminds me that transformation is not a single moment, but a life lived in awareness, one choice at a time: at home, in community, in nature, in the mystery of Spirit.
From this day forward, may I continue to walk the inward and outward path—guided, grounded, connected, and grateful.
I invite you to join me in this practice. You are welcome to recite this prayer, or adapt it in your own words, as a companion on your journey.
From this Day Forward – the Prayer
From this day forward, Beloved Source,
Divine Mother–Father of All,
Angels of Light and Love,
Guides seen and unseen,
and my full Team of Divine Helpers—
I thank You.
Thank You for this new chapter,
for the roof that shelters me,
for the neighbourhood that embraces my family and me,
and for the community that nourishes my heart and spirit.
Help me discover my rightful place within it,
so that I may continue to thrive
as a spiritual being joyfully navigating the human experience.
Protect and guide me—
night and day,
in stillness and in movement,
in the silence of my home,
in the noise of city life,
and in the unfolding of the world.
Help me meet each moment with gratitude,
courage, and openness,
not by denying the storms,
but by remembering the Light
that guides me through them.
From this day forward,
help me choose what honours my transformation.
Help me stand balanced in dynamic stillness,
sit in calm concentration,
and walk the inward path toward peace and inspiration,
that I may flow through life as an instrument
of Your Love and Light.
From this day forward,
as day turns into night and night into day,
keep me grounded—
rooted in the bosom of Mother Earth,
connected to all her creatures.
May my relationships with Nature
and all living beings
be anchored in our Oneness.
From this day forward,
may I draw from the sacred union within—
the Vesica Pisces of Heaven and Earth,
the tender overlap of soul and body,
intuition and intellect,
the space where the heart perceives
what words cannot teach.
May I journey through valleys and hills
in the Divine Flow of inspiration,
trusting the river that carries me forward.
Ignite within me the flame of Your radiant Love.
Let it illuminate the windows of my days
and kindle passion, purpose, and clarity.
May my life—simple, rich, spirit-led—
be a tapestry that celebrates
beauty, freedom, creativity, wellness,
integrity, and devoted joy.
May every dawn and every dusk
move me deeper into remembrance:
that I am here to awaken,
to serve, to love,
to embody the Christ Consciousness
we were shown is possible.
May the Love that flows through me
touch every life I encounter,
and may all of this set me free on my way Home.
So be it.
So it is.
From this day forward.
