Peace & Harmony – New Painting and Prayer

In a world that can feel unsettled and uncertain, I am reminded of the words attributed to Mother Teresa:

“I will never attend an anti-war rally; if you have a peace rally, invite me.”

This also reflects what I have learned about the Universal Law of Polarity — to focus on what we wish to bring into the world, rather than what we wish to avoid.

For me, this is about choosing peace rather than focusing on fear or conflict.

This painting — and the prayer below — is my response: a quiet, loving invitation to peace on Earth.

Divine Mother of all worlds,
Womb of stars and silent knowing,
You who hold the turning Earth
as gently as a child at rest—

Awaken in us the memory of who we are.

May the prayer of the heart
rise beyond fear and forgetting.
May love remember itself
in every nation, every home, every soul.

From the deep well of timeless wisdom,
let light pour forth—
as clarity in our seeing,
as grace shaping our becoming
and harmony restoring balance within all life.

Open the unseen pages of truth within us,
where peace is already written,
where unity has never been broken,
where all beings are known as kin.

Let our thoughts become sanctuaries.
Let our hands become blessings.
Let our choices be guided
by the quiet intelligence of compassion.

Divine Mother,
teach us to see with the eyes of the soul,
to listen with the heart of eternity,
and to live as keepers of one sacred Earth.

May peace and harmony be restored in consciousness,
and through us,
made visible in the world.

I’d been exploring the names Peace Prayer or A Prayer for Peace as I wrote the prayer and painted the painting, but neither felt quite right.

After I shared the reveal video on Facebook and title suggestions started coming in, the name Peace & Harmony emerged quietly through my own intuition.

Hearing it immediately brought to mind the Peace and Harmony Prayer associated with Paramahansa Yogananda — a prayer I hear several times a day on Radio Ananda.

The practice itself is striking in its simplicity (and so much shorter than mine). One begins by holding the world in awareness and inwardly repeating:

Lord, fill this world with peace and harmony, peace and harmony.

This line is repeated slowly and attentively about ten times, allowing the intention of peace to permeate thought and feeling. Then, the focus gently turns inward, repeating three times:

Lord, fill me with peace and harmony, peace and harmony.

The guidance encourages returning to this prayer throughout the day, so peace and harmony become a living presence in consciousness — something embodied, not merely wished for.

As I continued to sit with the painting, another realization arose: the figure could be seen not only as the Divine Mother — or as Mother Mary, Kwan Yin, Tara, Isis, and other expressions of the Divine Feminine across traditions — but also as me… as us.

Each of us, in our own way, holds the Earth in our hands.

What we carry in consciousness matters.
Peace & harmony are not only prayed for — they are chosen, lived, and offered through us.
