A Return To Love – Painting & Vision

A Return to Love - Mermaid & Merman spiral / circle painting

“A Return To Love” – keep scrolling for more photos.

The energy still emanating from the painting “A Return to Love” supports those wanting to manifest or deepen a loving couple relationship. Is that you?

*

Focusing on the vision of your ideal life is an important step of the manifestation process.

By first imagining the various aspects of your ideal life (relationships, career, environment, social/recreational time, health, etc.) you put yourself in the  feeling state of that being, doing & having.  You’re increasing your vibration and sending your wish list to the Universe through your feeling state.

I knew that.

The added layer that Derek Rydall has added in the course work I’m doing in his Awakened Wealth Mastery program is to then let go of the details of the vision to amplify the feeling tone – ten times, fifty times, a hundred times… Really feel it!

By letting go of the details and focusing on amplifying the feeling, you allow yourself to trust that the Universe will respond with people, opportunities, etc. that match the amplified feeling tone. They’ll likely be even better than you originally imagined.

As Derek explains it, it’s about giving in, surrendering – of

“letting go of control or ego agendas, of struggling to make things happen and allowing something new and more to emerge, to be welcome. It’s about resigning from being the manager of the Universe and becoming an employee, a servant of it. It’s about letting go of the will.”

Envisioning The One … or the Next One

When doing Derek’s meditation, I’m no longer single.

I’m sharing life with the ideal-man-for-me and our cat & dog in our beachside home doing the work we love. Our intent is to grow more into the unconditional love we already are at our core with ease, grace, and joy.

In this vision, we were already vibrating high when we met and help raise each other higher through our commitment to our own and each other’s happiness.

I’ll spare you all the details, only to say that the feeling of it is wonder-full. When amplified, it’s divine! It takes my previous 2 long-term relationships to a whole new level.

In the past 7 years as a happy single, I’ve been focused on my art, my business, and my personal development.

It’s time to bring the romantic partnership energy back up from wherever I buried it.  My first step is to feel it and paint it.

A Return To Love – Painting in the Feeling Tone

Painting has always been a way for me to live in my feeling tone – to stay connected with my Higher Self and team of Divine Helpers for long periods of time, raising my vibration.

So I decided it was time to co-create a new couple painting.

The only 2 couple pieces I’ve painted since my return to Newfoundland were both in 2015: Side by Side and Divine Union .

Since then, that energy’s been on the back burner. It wasn’t on purpose. I was just too busy working at home or attendeding women-only events.

So here’s “A Return to Love” the first of what may be a new series featuring couples / partnership energy.

“A Return to Love” celebrates the union, or re-union of the divine masculine & feminine within ourselves and the couple.

Their movement towards each other is propelled by love & compassion (mica energy used in the scales on their tails).

This painting invites you to be in ideal partnership – to dance in the deep emotional pools for the natural evolution of your souls.

The Tibetan or Chinese turquoise is reported to add the energy of prayer to its subject. It’s a bringer of natural good fortune, fidelity & protection. It’s also a good stone for clearing the Throat Chakra – for self-expression. It supports the desire to be real, to be authentic in all you are, do, and have together.

As you’ll see in the photos, the figures appear white from one angle but are iridescent pink / blue from another. This encourages you to reveal and unconditionally love each others’ true colours in the fertile waters of relationship.

May “A Return to Love” also help you to manifest your ideal partnership – either with someone new or within your existing relationship.

Here it is – the second of the Enter the Mandala Project paintings – The Law of Vibration.

As an intuitive artist, journeying into the Law of Vibration has meant riding the sinuous waves of energy throughout space and time as well as skipping from one God Particle to another within all things.

What a trip!

I’ll do my best to share with you the wonders of both the creative and spiritual processes here.

The Spirit Calling Card Reading

As you know, my goal in this series is to explore and express the Twelve Universal Laws.

It’s part of my own spiritual journey, using my intuitive gifts to generate a better understanding of the concepts on a body, mind, and spirit level.

In addition to the initial interpretations I share in the audio below, this Spirit Calling Card reading affirmed that by answering the call of my Angels and Spirit Guides to create this series, I am planting seeds on all levels. By using intuition and colour as my mediums, I am evolving and opening a gateway for those interested in journeying with me.

Thanks for coming along!

Listen In

I love the visual journeys I take when I channel a Divine Storytelling Time! Whether I’m doing one to source information for myself, a painting, or as part of an intuitive reading for a client, they’re such rich sources of experience and symbology.

You get to join me on this short journey, which starts right after the Spirit Calling Card reading.

I invite you to listen as you explore the meaning of The Law of Vibration through the photos below.

The Creative Process

Up Close

It took me about 75 hours to create this 30″ x 30″ painting.  I spent about 16 of those dot-making … a very meditative process.

As it was the last week of the Hay House Summit 2015, I also spent many of those hours listening to inspiring podcasts.  While my left brain was listening, my right brain entered the mandala, riding the waves of creativity and energy.

The Spiritual Process

It’s amazing to think (and know, and feel) that absolutely everything is pure energy vibrating at different frequencies.

I’ve long accepted this when it comes to the things we can see with the naked eye – be it people, plants, man-made objects, etc. I was paying attention in science class!

I also knew that this was true of what we can perceive with our other senses, such as sounds and smells. It even made sense that dog whistles, which we can’t hear, are vibrating at an imperceptible frequency.

I remember being fascinated, however, when I was introduced to the fact that thoughts, beliefs, and emotions are also vibrations.  Even consciousness is vibration! These aren’t only spiritual concepts, but quantum physics ones as well.

If you haven’t seen the movies “What the Bleep Do We Know!?”  and “What the Bleep: Down the Rabbit Hole” yet, I recommend them. They do a great job of explaining parts of this.

MOST INTRIGUING:

I don’t remember hearing or reading anything about it, but what has intrigued me most through this intuitive painting experience is the idea that time and history also vibrate at specific energetic frequencies. Is that why repressed emotions from this or past lifetimes get stored in our bodies and psyches? Is that where the idea of time travel came from? The fact that my visual journey through the Law of Vibration took me from cavemen to Columbus to modern times fascinates me.

The more I painted and the more I listened, the more I understood. Teal Swan, one of the Hay House speakers who was born with extrasensory perception, explained how she doesn’t see negative space like most of us do. For her, there is no empty space. Everything is vibrating in waves of energy, including the wind, the air, etc. There is no clear separation between things.

LINKS:

My experience journeying through this mandala also reaffirmed the link between the Law of Vibration and the Law of Attraction.  By vibrating at a certain frequency, through the power of our emotions, we attract what is also vibrating at that same frequency.

As Abraham (channeled by Esther Hicks) explained in a great interview by Dr. Wayne Dwyer, we have 17 seconds after having a negative thought to get off that vibration frequency. Esther herself, when she notices such thoughts, simply starts counting backwards to unhook from that frequency.  It stops her from spiralling down the chain of negative thoughts that remind her of related negative thoughts, etc.  I also like Abraham’s description of sleep as a reset button.  That’s why it’s so important to spend the first minutes upon waking on the higher frequency vibrations instead of instantly checking emails or listening to the news.  I don’t listen to the news, but I do jump onto the computer a little too quickly …

As spiritual beings here on earth to have human experiences, we are bound to vibrate at various frequencies during our lives, our chapters, our days and even our minutes. The importance of our roles as vibration managers though, is an interesting one to think about.  Are we following the leadership of our Guides and Higher Selves or are we so caught up in the details that we’re spinning on the lower frequencies – stuck until we remember to reconnect to our true essence?

I could go on, but you get the picture.  The Law of Vibration is as it is. There are many ways to understand it, including the various spiritual and metaphysical teachings I’ve been studying for years.  This was simply another way to explore and express it, helping me perceive and experience life and the world in a much more unconditionally loving way.

Studio Sneak Peek: From Seed to Tree

Jan 16scc reading
Wow! So much has happened in the studio since my last sneak peek – including about 30 hours of painting. Bliss! But first…

Time in the Studio:

Friday was the end of the online Thriving Artist Summit.  Over the past 2 weeks, I listened to 24 different successful artists talk about various aspects of the life and business of arts.  It was inspiring, educational, and ensured that I spent time in the studio every day, even if I had other projects on the go.

Guidance:

This is the Spirit Calling Card reading I got on Friday morning – the last day of the summit.

Did I ever have fun with that message from my Guides in my Morning Pages (3 pages of automatic writing – as taught by Julia Cameron, whom I mentioned in my Life by Design: Creativity post last week). Fun! Fun! Fun!  What would a direction of pure passion and miracles look like for you?

Large Snowflake:

This is where we left off in my last Sneak Peek.  I needed the couple to stand out more, so it was time to work inside the large snowflake behind them. I only worked in mid and dark tones as I didn’t want anything light to compete with the tree that would be painted on top.  At least that was the plan until I did the outer edges in silver dots :-).  Couldn’t resist.

More background:

I then worked on adding more patterns to the background, at the top and along the sides.  My overall purpose was to darken the whole background so that the tree would stand out more. I kept some of the original pale layers showing as a representation of background snow. I love the mystery, texture, and layers of life that these patterns represent.

Sacred Geometry:

I then worked on the bottom circle that the couple is rooted to. These aren’t necessarily distinguishable in the end, but that’s not what was important.  I simply wanted the energy of these symbols to infuse the image.  They’re all about the sacred geometry of the creation of physical and spiritual Universes.

The circle – Wholeness, Supreme Spirit, One God

07Dominique Hurley-wip_1206The Yin Yang –  male/female aspects of the Great Spirit, dark/light, matter/spirit, passive/active, perfect balance, harmony.  “Yin and yang can be thought of as complementary (rather than opposing) forces that interact to form a dynamic system in which the whole is greater than the assembled parts.” Wikipedia

08Dominique Hurley-wip_1209Vesica Pisces – sacred geometry used in religion and spirituality for thousands of years to represent a source of immense power and energy. It’s also

  • an opening into the mysteries of higher consciousness
  • the seed of the tree of life and basic motif for the flower of life,
  • the intersection of spiritual and physical,
  • creation/ birthing/ yoni/ Goddess
  • two becoming one
  • a symbol for Jesus Christ (the fish shape in the middle).

I used to wear a  vesica pisces pendent, a stylized version of the Chalice Well cover in Glastonbury, a place I feel drawn to, but haven’t visited yet.  And it wasn’t until after I completed the overlapping layers and was contemplating it that it also reminded me of wedding bands.

09Dominique Hurley-wip_1211 The Roots:

I woke up excited and scared on Saturday morning, knowing I was going to create the tree that day.  After spending so much time on the base layers, I didn’t want to ruin my painting. Then I remembered what I teach – there are no mistakes, just more layers. Play, have fun, take risks, stretch your comfort zones, and do something everyday that scares you.  I then chose to let go of the “scared” and keep the “excited”.

DLH_1225So I used my new giant compass (sticking the end in my eraser not to make a hole in the canvas) to draw a circle for the overall shape of the tree. (Thanks to everyone on Facebook who shared their shape preference.)  I then used my favourite brush to paint an intricate series of spiral roots: symbolic of holistic growth and union with the Divine.

10Dominique Hurley-wip_1228Later, after I had completed the tree, my housemate commented that the roots weren’t translating as roots to her, but more like lace.  Thanks to Orinda’s feedback, I later added another layer of roots that better mirrored the branches of the tree more.  I liked the improvement.

11Dominique Hurley-wip_1248The Tree:

As per my usual style, I wasn’t precise about the symmetry here.  I free-handed branches that joined the couple to the overall circular shape. There wasn’t much planning here.  The top kept calling to reach upwards more, so I actually incorporated a bit of the two designs I had been contemplating.  I can see where a little more precision could have been nice, but I also see that life is messy at times and letting go of perfection is such a blessing. This tree simply grew as it was meant to grow and I love it!  After a few layers of white, I used a new dark blue below the branches to add contrast and to simplify the foreground over such a busy background.  I did the same for the roots and figures and just kept playing with that.

12Dominique Hurley-wip_1250Dots:

I then spent hours dotting the circle, and adding ice/snow crystals to the branches in silver, pearl, and gold.  I have long been a fan of dots on my artwork, but I have fellow artist Fay Prince to thank for passing on her tip about using a stylus to make them.

As per usual, the photos don’t do the piece justice, but here’s a summary of its recent evolution.

This is still a work in progress… but

I received an email from the Craft Council of NL looking for submissions for a special February exhibition entitled “All Kinds of Love’.  When space permits, they take a few pieces that fit more into the visual art than craft arena.  Part of me would like to submit this piece for consideration, but like with any gallery representation, I hesitate as the gallery keeps a sales commission.  They do attract the crowds though, and the exposure would be great.  Tough decision.  But if anyone is already considering this piece for themselves or as a gift, please let me know.  I will reveal the final piece on Wednesday.
