Hope’s Herald began with a moment of connection during a photo walk through Beechwood National Cemetery. I was drawn to a monument featuring an angel and photographed the image, not knowing that it would later become the inspiration for a painting.
Through my intuitive creative process, the angel emerged holding a bluebird — a beloved symbol of happiness, hope, and new beginnings. Across cultures and through folklore, the bluebird has come to represent optimism, renewal, and the gentle reminder that light can return after difficult seasons.
As with all of my paintings, Hope’s Herald unfolded through layers of colour, symbolism, and sacred intention. The angel serves as a messenger, offering a quiet reminder to remain open to the signs, moments of beauty, and unexpected gifts that appear along our path.
