Nested Soul (12″ x 24″)

This painting arrived as a vision — four figures nested within one another, one form holding another, holding another, holding another.

It was only through the journey of painting, reflecting, and listening that I began to understand its deeper meaning. These are not separate figures, but layers of the same sacred essence — expressions of consciousness unfolding from stillness, through prayer and surrender, into expansion.

I usually gravitate toward odd numbers because they create a sense of movement and unfolding. Yet this piece revealed four — a number often associated with grounding, stability, foundation, and creating a sacred container. The four directions, the four seasons, the four corners of a sacred space.

Four creates the container. The Divine energy moves within it.

Embedded genuine gemstones form a symbolic inner axis, representing the soul’s journey from grounding and devotion to surrender, expansion, and Divine connection.

Perhaps these figures are a reflection of our own inner journey — moving inward, opening, surrendering, and expanding, while discovering that every expression of ourselves has always been held within the greater wholeness of the Divine.
